A vote for Sarah is a vote for fun!

I'm of no doubt whatsoever that this is something upon which all of us --one one level or another-- can agree.

Hiya kids --been a while. Three months and change, like. Been busy, and otherwise occupied as well, muh huh.

All kinds of interesting and entertaining stuff planned, though --but it'll be tough to match the nonstop thrills of the Franken-Coleman odyssey and the Sotomayor confirmation hearings in the Senate Judiciary Committee last week. Always leave 'em wanting more, I guess.

Anyway, just wanted to say howdy and chuck this up here. The big idea is for this post to be the first that comes up in a Google search of the phrase and variants, and it owes a nod to what is my default reply in the "Comment" field to anyone who takes the "Would you vote for Sarah Palin" poll currently in heavy rotation @ Ć’aceburger --and of course it's lifted from a great American nonfiction novel.

Just couldn't help myself --it's the prankster in me, y'see. Or should I say Prankster...

Only serious junkies need apply...

Presidents' Day, motions in the Coleman election contest, live coverage @ The Uptake from 12:30 (court begins @ 1:00).

Don't reckon it'll go very long, but who knows. I've opened up a live-blog for the hardcores who just can't spend one more day away from it...

We'll give it a shot...

Righto kidz --since the live blog @ The UpTake is so much fun --but because court is scheduled to adjourn @ 1:00 PM Central today, and since Jennifer will be throwing their LB into "Suspend" mode soon thereafter-- the 51st Ward Regular Democrat Organ-I-Zation plans to welcome any and all UpTake ROFLefugees here for a live blog as soon as they shut it down over there.

We'll have The 'Take's Twitter feed patched in, just in case any nooze should break out of Minny (f'rinstanc'z, rulings of the Election Contest Court and/or Norm Coleman's capitulation).

Meantime, I'm gonna try to work out the bugs so that I have a place to, you know, throw this li'l party. What you need to bring: something to chuck on the grill --and wear what you dare... [Ed. --Update follows the live blog below; language aLOLert --nothing too filthy, but not for the eyes of children]

@ 10:33 PM CST: ...and that'll wrap the day's action --and what action it was. A tremendous debt of gratitude is owed the good folks @ The UpTake (Jennifer!...Matt [who dropped by the live blog]...Jason [be well, dude --I'm comin' for ya]...Noah the Disenfranchised[???]...and Mike); also Eelerz, Ralphie, Tomtech, Her Serene Highness and of course Linda G --sheesh, just cue the music and get that @sshole off the stage, already! Goodnite, all.

By any means necessary

Been better'n a week, and apoLOLogies for that --tried to post on Saturday, but the interface here was dodgy and wouldn't let me exceed the post box field. Grrr.

Anyway, I've been entirely absorbed in the Minnesota election contest, hanging out over at The UpTake and moderating the live blog for a few hours each day. A real hoot, that, and folks are watching --it's all gone very meta and The Truman Show, don'tcha know (drop by the live blog during the noon hour Central time --a genuine online comedy club, you betcha). For the benefit of those who can't get enough, I've added WineRev's Kos diary to the blogroll for those interested in regular exhaustive summaries of the action inside and outside of court.

In an unrelated development, BHO44 his first live presser in prime time last nite, and the pundits reckoned his performance better than I. Today, details of Phase II of the financial sector baiLOLout get a rollout from Geithner at Treasury.

Marc Ambinder over at The Atlantic offered a sneak preview, and I stopped reading and started LOLing when I read that...

The TARP II details are now in relief. 1. Government regulators will get banks onto treadmills and perform some sort of "stress test" to make sure that they keep afloat and can wisely spend whatever money they get. Banks that need money will be given a "capital bugger" to make sure they can keep lending. 2. The Treasury is partnering[...]

Hey, whatever it takes to get credit jarred loose around here, I guess. See you @ The 'Take!
